Review by Derby County fan John McBride

Why did you choose to go to this game and why were you looking forward to it?

Been to Bournemouth many a time on holiday and knew the area.

How did you travel to the game and how easy was it?

Travelled by car and it was easy as I could do the journey (200 miles) in my sleep I’ve done it that many times.

If you drove, was it easy to find car parking and make your way to the stadium?

BIC Centre – whilst a decent walk I know the area and planned to stay around – AFCB is actually in Boscombe but as a regular visitor to the area I know the place.

Which pubs did you go to before the game and what was the atmosphere like?

A couple of pubs and then the usual Wetherpoons (you know what you get and its cheap).

What did you think of the food and drink available inside the ground?

It was quite decent actually.

What did you think of the away end and your view of the game?

No issues with the view.

What was the atmosphere like during the match?

Derby fans making all the noise – AFCB fans need lessons on supporting their team – it was like a library if it wasn’t for the Derby fans.

How friendly were the home fans out of 10?

Quiet, so 10/10.

How easy did you find it to get away from the stadium after the game?

Easy as I know the area.

How much did you spend in total on this away day? Was it good value for money?

£15 on Electric (Tesla), £28 for the ticket, £12 Parking. Then we’ll ignore the food and drink bill 🙂

Would you recommend this away day to other fans?

As long as your fans make the noise, don’t expect any help from Bournemouth fans.

Review by Birmingham City fan Mark

Why did you choose to go to this game and why were you looking forward to it?

I travel to all away games and this is one that I have not been to yet.

How did you travel to the game and how easy was it?

We drove. It was very easy to find as it’s right on a main road. We also got a quick get away.

If you drove, was it easy to find car parking and make your way to the stadium?

We parked in a multi storey car park which was 10 minutes walk from the ground. It was cheap and in town and near 2 away pubs.

Which pubs did you go to before the game and what was the atmosphere like?

We went to the away pubs on Christchurch Road. It was nice, clean, with good music and no home fans.

Where did you eat on your away day and was it good value?

Wetherspoons in Bournemouth is a 15 minute drive away from ground by the sea front. It’s cheap, and for example a lager was £1.99 a pint.

What did you think of the food and drink available inside the ground?

I didn’t eat inside the ground but my mate said the pies were good but not cheap!

What did you think of the away end and your view of the game?

Don’t usually like side views as I prefer behind goal, but this was very good as it’s a small compact ground so you can see all the action.

What was the atmosphere like during the match?

Atmosphere was good. I think we took 900 in the away end but was decent from both sets of fans.

How friendly were the home fans out of 10?

Don’t usually mix with home fans but local people in the pub were 10/10.

How easy did you find it to get away from the stadium after the game?

Really easy – just 10 minutes and you’re on the main route away from Bournemouth – think it was A31.

How much did you spend in total on this away day? Was it good value for money?

Tickets are £30, plus £20 each for petrol, food and drinks.

Would you recommend this away day to other fans?

Yes. We went on a night so it was a couple of hours drive but easy to do and I think it would be great on a Saturday.

Is there anything else you want to tell us about your day?

Well organised stadium.
