FOREST GREEN ROVERS
The New Lawn (capacity 5,147)
The New Lawn has been home to Forest Green Rovers since 2006, having previously played at The Lawn Ground for 116 years. Whilst it is modern looking, The New Lawn is one of the smallest stadiums in the whole football league. The club is currently exploring plans to build a new 5,000 capacity stadium, with room to be expanded to 10,000.
The stadium has a number of eco-friendly features which makes it one of the most environmentally sustainable stadiums in the world. For example, the pitch collects rainwater which is then used around the stadium, and the club also uses a solar powered robotic lawn mower to cut the pitch.
Away fans visiting The New Lawn are located in the West Terrace, with a typical allocation of just under 1,200.
There is very limited parking for away fans in the stadium car park. However there is a few matchday car parks as well as a number of street parking options. There is also the option of park and ride.
We’ve compiled a list of car parks, below, near to The New Lawn for hassle free parking while you’re at the match.
|Car Park||Sat Nav||Cost||Distance to Ground||Description|
|The New Lawn Stadium Car Park||GL6 0ET||£5||0.1km||There is very limited parking at the stadium so get there extremely early if this is your prefered parking option.|
|Nailsworth Primary School||GL6 0ET||£5||0.4km||This local primary school offers matchday parking for just £5 and is just a 5 minute walk from the stadium.|
|Renishaw Park & Ride||GL5 5EY||£5||1.7km||Based at Renishaw PLC, this park and ride scheme is operated by the club. This is the option they recommend for away fans with over 200 spaces available.|
Nailsworth doesn’t have its own railway station, so the nearest one is Stroud. However, this is around 5 miles away from the stadium, so walking isn’t an option. The best options are to either take a taxi, which will cost around £15 one way, or get the bus.
To get the bus, firstly walk to the Merrywalks Shopping Centre. To get there, walk up Station Road and then turn left onto Russell Street followed by an immediate right onto King Street. Enter the shopping centre, and follow signs for the bus station. Once you’re there, take the number 63 bus, and get off on Nympsfield Road, near the local primary school. It’s then simply a case of walking further along Nympsfield Road and taking a left at the roundabout into Another Way, where you will see the stadium on your right.
