IPSWICH TOWN
Portman Road (capacity 30,311)
Portman Road has been home to Ipswich Town since 1884, though at that time it was simply a pitch with a pavilion. It took until 1936 for proper terraces to be built. Over the following decades, there was significant development including converting to an all-seater stadium in 1992, with further work completed in the early 2000’s.
Both ends behind the goal, the Sir Bobby Robson Stand, and the Sir Alf Ramsey Stand are the largest in the stadium, whilst the stands that run alongside the pitch are smaller and outdated in comparison. The two club legends, Sir Alf Ramsey and Sir Bobby Robson also have statues outside the stadium.
Away fans visiting Portman Road are located in the upper tier of the Cobbold Stand, at the side of the pitch nearest the Sir Alf Ramsey stand. The typical allocation for visiting supporters is around 1,900.
