MORECAMBE

Mazuma Stadium (capacity 6,476)

Morecambe moved to the Mazuma Stadium in 2010, having previously played at Christie Park since 1921. The stadium was originally named after the company who built it, Globe Construction. It also has one of the stands named after the club’s current Chairman, Peter McGuigan, which dominates the stadium.

When the stadium was built, the intention was to try and give it a similar look and feel to Christie Park. So the Peter McGuigan Stand is the main seating area, and then there are three terraces of various sizes, which in itself is unusual for a recently built stadium.

Away fans visiting the Mazuma Stadium are located in the Bay Radio Terrace, with a typical allocation of around 1,400. However, for bigger away followings, part of the Peter McGuigan Stand can be allocated.

The car park at the stadium is reserved for staff, players, and matchday officials. There is a local school that the club recommends for away fans, and also street parking.

We’ve compiled a list of car parks, below, near to the Mazuma Stadium for hassle free parking while you’re at the match.

Car ParkSat NavCostDistance to GroundDescription
Westgate Primary School Matchday Car ParkLA4 4XF£50.4kmThe local primary school operates a matchday car park and it is only a 5 minute walk to the stadium. The proceeds go to the school, so it’s for a good cause.
Buckingham Road (Street Parking)LA4 4LUFree0.5kmIf you continue along the Westgate Road, then once you’re over the railway bridge you’ll come to Buckingham Road. This is a popular option for street parking and should just take 5-10 minutes to walk to the stadium.
Osborne Road (Street Parking)LA4 4LSFree0.5kmOsborne Road is also along Westgate Road, over the railway bridge. This is a popular option for street parking and should just take 5-10 minutes to walk to the stadium.

Served by trains from Lancaster, Morecambe Railway Station is just over a mile away from the stadium, and will take around 20 minutes to walk. Alternatively, catch the number 6 or 6A bus from the bus stop outside the railway station, which takes fans right outside the stadium..

To walk, exit the station and follow the bicycle/walking signs to the end of the line and join the West End Road, and turn right. Walk until you can turn left onto Acre Moss Lane and follow this along where it will eventually become Buckingham Road. Pass the Ellesmere Road and Albert Road junctions, then take a left into Westgate. Continue along this road and you will see the stadium approaching on your left.
