NORTHAMPTON TOWN

Sixfields (capacity 7,798)

Having played for 97 years at the County Ground, the ‘Cobblers’ moved to their new home of Sixfields in 1994. This is an all-seater stadium on the outskirts of Northampton, which was temporarily shared with Coventry City back in 2005.

The covered, single tiered West Stand is the largest of the four, and contains the club offices and changing rooms. The Dave Bowen Stand, behind the goal, is named after the former player and manager who had success with the club in the 1960’s, though some children watch the game from the bank to the side of this North Stand.

Away fans visiting Sixfields are located in the Moulton College (South) Stand, with a typical allocation of around 900, although an additional 400 seats can be added in the East Stand if required.

We’ve compiled a list of car parks, below, near Sixfields for hassle free parking while you’re at the match.

Car Park Sat Nav Cost Distance to Ground Description
Sixfields Car Park NN5 5QA £4 0.1km Parking at the stadium itself is a popular option for away fans as it is very convenient and is patrolled. While there are plenty spaces, arriving early is still advisable.
Duston Mill Matchday Car Park NN5 4EG £4 0.5km At the roundabout next to TGI Friday is an areas called Duston Mill, which operates a Matchday Car Park for £4 per car. It’s around a 5-10 minute walk from here to the stadium.

Northampton Railway Station is over two miles from the stadium, so unless you’re a keen walker, a taxi or a bus might be the best option. There are a number of buses that you can get which leave from outside the railway station, such as the D1, D2, D3 and the 22/22A.

For those who wish to walk, exit the station and take a right on to Black Lion Hill, where you will pass a petrol station on your left hand side. Continue until you reach the Thomas Beckett pub and turn left into St James’ Mill Road. Follow that road until you turn right on to Harvey Reeves Road, which eventually becomes Edgar Mobbs Way. Follow that all the way until you reach the stadium, which you will see approaching on your right.
