SCUNTHORPE UNITED
Sands Venue Stadium (capacity 9,088)
Glanford Park, currently known as the Sands Venue Stadium, has been home to Scunthorpe United since 1988, when the club left the Old Show Ground, making it the first new football league stadium to be built since the Second World War. The stadium is actually based in Glanford, so when the local council of Glanford provided a small amount of funding, the club originally named the stadium Glanford Park.
The stadium itself is quite a simple design, with all four stands being equal in height and of similar appearance. The corners are filled in although they are not used for supporters. The Britcon Stand behind one of the goals is the only terraced stand, with the others being all seated.
Away fans visiting the Sands Venue Stadium are located in the South Stand, with an allocation of around 1,700.
