Why did you choose to go to this game and why were you looking forward to it?
Went to this game last season and is one of our closer games (4 hours 30 mins)
How did you travel to the game and how easy was it?
Travelled by car and it was very easy to find and drive around the roads of London.
If you drove, was it easy to find car parking and make your way to the stadium?
Very easy both times. We parked on an industrial estate which this website recommended and there were lots of spaces on the side of the road. You could even park near the O2 and bus it which is about 20mins on bus or 10mins drive.
Which pubs did you go to before the game and what was the atmosphere like?
We didn’t choose to go to a pub but we drove to the O2 arena which is 10 mins away and, wow, it was stunning and inside was amazing. That’s where we got food and drinks.
Where did you eat on your away day and was it good value?
We ate at the O2 arena. Lots of restaurants inside from Gordon Ramsey restaurants to pubs and even smaller places like Five Guys. We went for a pizza restaurant which was nice.
What did you think of the food and drink available inside the ground?
Inside the ground the food and drink was okay. Only problem is very long service. If this game was on a weekend it’s hectic.
What did you think of the away end and your view of the game?
Away end is massive. Fits around 3,000 people in, brilliant view.
What was the atmosphere like during the match?
Atmosphere was quiet from the home fans. It was a Tuesday night game which could have effected this but only loud when they score. Away fans were loud as always!
How easy did you find it to get away from the stadium after the game?
Leaving the ground is awful, you are walking through so many Charlton fans to get back to the car and they are constantly shouting at you and it’s awful.
If you stayed over, where did you stay and was it convenient for getting to the stadium?
We stayed 30 mins away in Sevenoaks Premier Inn. Brilliant like always, would recommend Premier Inns for away days.
How much did you spend in total on this away day? Was it good value for money?
We stayed 30 mins away in Sevenoaks Premier Inn. Brilliant like always, would recommend Premier Inns for away days. My costs were:
Petrol: £100
Tickets: £26
Hotel: £63 for two people
Food at the O2: £28 for a pizza and four drinks
Would you recommend this away day to other fans?
Yes it’s not bad!

Why did you choose to go to this game and why were you looking forward to it?
Charlton are a big club with a big ground and was a new one to tick off for me.
How did you travel to the game and how easy was it?
Drove down, and for a Saturday 3pm kick off in London, the traffic wasn’t too bad.
If you drove, was it easy to find car parking and make your way to the stadium?
Parked in the IKEA car park about a 15 min walk away from the ground next to the pub.
Which pubs did you go to before the game and what was the atmosphere like?
The Angerstein Hotel. Decent atmosphere, was a fair few away fans there too. Good beer.
What did you think of the food and drink available inside the ground?
Ate a pie in the ground. Steak and ale I believe. Was pretty decent. 7/10.
What did you think of the away end and your view of the game?
Good view with a nice big away end. Easy to create a good atmosphere.
What was the atmosphere like during the match?
Great!
How easy did you find it to get away from the stadium after the game?
Was quite slow as there was a large amount of home fans coming out as well. Not the worst though.
Would you recommend this away day to other fans?
Yeah, definitely.

Why did you choose to go to this game and why were you looking forward to it?
Charlton have a good stadium and London games are easy to get to. I was looking forward to it because the green army had filled the away end.
How did you travel to the game and how easy was it?
I got a train to Paddington then a couple of over ground trains to The Valley. Very easy to get to and fairly cheap.
If you got the train, how easy did you find it to make your way to the stadium from the station?
The stadium is just around the corner. Only a 5 min walk!
Which pubs did you go to before the game and what was the atmosphere like?
I went to the Anchor and Hope which is on the bank of the Thames, the atmosphere was quality, fans were constantly singing.
What did you think of the food and drink available inside the ground?
Food and drink was fairly standard, nothing special.
What did you think of the away end and your view of the game?
Good view and the away end is decent, but a bit crowded in the queues.
What was the atmosphere like during the match?
The home fans were silent until they scored. Away fans sang for most of the first half.
How friendly were the home fans out of 10?
9/10.
How easy did you find it to get away from the stadium after the game?
The train station was packed but once on the train all was fine.
How much did you spend in total on this away day? Was it good value for money?
Around £200 in total.
Would you recommend this away day to other fans?
Yeah, it’s a nice day out even if your team loses.
