Review by Nottingham Forest fan Ethan
Why did you choose to go to this game and why were you looking forward to it?
I go home and away with Forest so was a no brainer.
How did you travel to the game and how easy was it?
Went down on the coach which was an easy journey down. The only real traffic was on the M25 which is expected around 4pm on a week day and we got off in Hammersmith and walked from the pub to the ground which was a nice walk down by the river.
Which pubs did you go to before the game and what was the atmosphere like?
We went in the William Morris Wetherspoons just the usual Spoons atmosphere filled with both sets of supporters locals were nice and friendly.
Where did you eat on your away day and was it good value?
Had food in the Wetherspoons – just the standard quality of food that you’d find in Wetherspoons all over the country.
What did you think of the food and drink available inside the ground?
If you get to the ground in decent time there is an early bird offer for Camden hells at £4.80 a pint compared to the £7 a pint that they usually charge so would recommend.
What did you think of the away end and your view of the game?
I always love travelling to Fulham as it is a nice old fashioned away end. I was a few rows from the pitch with a good view which based on the result some could say was unfortunate as we lost 5-0!
What was the atmosphere like during the match?
Forest fans class as usual as we kept singing throughout and especially at 4 and 5 nil down barely anyone left early. We all stuck by and supported the club we love and we stuck by and still will continue to stick by Steve Cooper throughout the difficult times just as last season and we came through them.
How friendly were the home fans out of 10?
7/10
How easy did you find it to get away from the stadium after the game?
There are plenty of police and stewards around to guide you if necessary but most away coaches park on Fulham Palace Road, which can be found via all the side streets around the ground just by following them to the top.
How much did you spend in total on this away day? Was it good value for money?
£25 on match ticket and £26 on the coach, which was good value.
Would you recommend this away day to other fans?
Yes most definitely especially if you play in the summer, as it would be a beautiful day by the river but still always a good away day as it’s old school!
Review by AFC Bournemouth fan Bob
Why did you choose to go to this game and why were you looking forward to it?
Not been to Fulham before and London isn’t too far from Bournemouth compared to other away games.
How did you travel to the game and how easy was it?
Drove to Richmond, parked in the Old Deer Car park which is a few minutes away from Richmond station, and then District Line Tube to Putney Bridge.
If you got the train, how easy did you find it to make your way to the stadium from the station?
Putney Bridge station is only a 15 minute walk to Craven Cottage through the park along the Thames.
Which pubs did you go to before the game and what was the atmosphere like?
The Eight Bells looked good but was very full, so we went to The Rocket, the Wetherspoons on the river. It was busy with a mixture of home and away fans. Decent beer and cheap for London!
Where did you eat on your away day and was it good value?
McDonald’s in Putney!
What did you think of the away end and your view of the game?
Decent view, the posts in the stands do restrict the view for some, but our view was ok.
What was the atmosphere like during the match?
Very good, and the early Cherries penalty set the tone in the away end. Home fans were rather quiet though.
How friendly were the home fans out of 10?
7/10
How easy did you find it to get away from the stadium after the game?
Very easy – just a 15 minute walk back to the Tube through the park.
How much did you spend in total on this away day? Was it good value for money?
About £80 including an adult and U16 ticket, petrol, parking, Tube, food and a pint. So not bad value overall.
Would you recommend this away day to other fans?
Yes. It’s easy to get to, has a good selection of pubs nearby and Craven Cottage has bags of character… A proper ground!
