Review by Southampton fan Ben Porter

Why did you choose to go to this game and why were you looking forward to it?

Since Hull is so far away from us, I was able to get tickets fairly easily and cheap in nice positions. Really excited for it as it was my first away game.

How did you travel to the game and how easy was it?

Travelled by a fan organised coach. Travel was very comfortable, and extremely long (7hrs including stops). Didn’t have to worry too much about travel though which was nice.

Which pubs did you go to before the game and what was the atmosphere like?

Pitch Side pub, found at the stadium. Atmosphere in the area was fairly tame given how far everyone had travelled.

Where did you eat on your away day and was it good value?

At the stadium. Surprisingly very tasty food which isn’t something stadiums offer all that much anymore.

What did you think of the away end and your view of the game?

Very good view from where I was sitting. Had a side on view of the goal next to the home fans.

What was the atmosphere like during the match?

Hull fans were very loud for the start of the game, but after half time they seemed to lose their voice a bit.

How friendly were the home fans out of 10?

6/10, most of them would get a 8/10, but after the game some Hull fans started trying to climb into the away end. And I don’t think they were coming over to shake hands.

How easy did you find it to get away from the stadium after the game?

Coach took about 30 mins to leave the game, but after that it was all smooth.

How much did you spend in total on this away day? Was it good value for money?

£13.50 for the seat, £44 for coach, around a tenner throughout the day for food and drink (bearing in mind I brought some snacks of my own and plenty of water).

Would you recommend this away day to other fans?

Yes, very nicely structured away end, and if your team can get a big following on the road like Saints does the atmosphere can be really good!

Review by Coventry City fan Eddie James

Why did you choose to go to this game and why were you looking forward to it?

Family grew up in the area and used it as an excuse to make a bigger weekend out of the game.

How did you travel to the game and how easy was it?

Drove in the car, straight Up the A46 and changed onto the A15 to Hull and across the Humber bridge into the city.

If you drove, was it easy to find car parking and make your way to the stadium?

There is car parking at the ground for home fans, but away fans are sent to a nearby car park 10 minute walk away from the ground which charges £5.

Which pubs did you go to before the game and what was the atmosphere like?

Brickmakers Arms. Easy walk down the road from the ground. Loads of pubs on the main road leading towards the ground for pre/post match drinks.

Where did you eat on your away day and was it good value?

As always, stopped off at service stations on the way home and got a Burger King / McDonald’s.

What did you think of the food and drink available inside the ground?

Pint is £4.50 in the ground. Not excessive wait for a drink or two. Good service in the away end.

What did you think of the away end and your view of the game?

View was great. Slightly behind and to the right of the goal. It is a tight fit with the seats being so close to each other but not an issue if standing.

What was the atmosphere like during the match?

Home fans have a block or two who do all the singing. If the away team can sell enough tickets, it will make for great rivalry / atmosphere in the stand.

How friendly were the home fans out of 10?

9/10

How easy did you find it to get away from the stadium after the game?

There is a dual carriage way which leads to and from the ground, straight onto the motorway. Very easy after beating the traffic post match.

How much did you spend in total on this away day? Was it good value for money?

£45 for 3 tickets and £9 on drinks so £54 in total.

Would you recommend this away day to other fans?

If your team is taking a big crowd, it has the potential to be a fan’s favourite away day. Good ground and can make for a good atmosphere in the away end.
