Review by West Brom fan Jamie Perrett
Why did you choose to go to this game and why were you looking forward to it?
Chose to go to Luton as it was on my list to complete, was looking forward to it because I heard about Luton being a very old fashioned ground and it was the start of a new season with a lot of hope for West Brom.
How did you travel to the game and how easy was it?
I travelled on an unofficial coach. West Brom have a singing section run by a very good friend of mine, we made a day of it, reached the ground in plenty of time despite being held up in Dunstable as we stopped off in Milton Keynes before the game.
If you drove, was it easy to find car parking and make your way to the stadium?
Coaches parked outside the away end so was easy access to and from the stadium, very friendly club with very good banter and in between row of houses (very unusual for an away end entrance)
What did you think of the food and drink available inside the ground?
Food and drink was easy to get inside the ground. A tip – always go early before the mad rush as there’s a better chance of being served quickly.
What did you think of the away end and your view of the game?
Away end was decent, my view was by the corner flag in line with the subs bench so was able to to get an insight as to who was being brought on for both teams. Great end to end game from both teams.
What was the atmosphere like during the match?
Atmosphere was fantastic, Luton fans were hostile but had great banter. Our away fans were superb from start to finish, and came up with a song for our match winner Diangana who came on loan from West Ham. He changed the game, so beating Luton in their own backyard after their incredible home record was a fantastic away result and fantastic away day. The entrance to the away end was very unusual, so before you get to the away end you walk through a back garden of houses which was weird but I guess every club runs differently.
How friendly were the home fans out of 10?
9/10.
How easy did you find it to get away from the stadium after the game?
Easy to get away from ground although we had to wait for everyone to get back on coach and there was some banter between home and away fans. The police and stewards were organised very well.
How much did you spend in total on this away day? Was it good value for money?
I spent £40-£50 which was very good value for money. What more could you ask for than a decent pub stop and three points for West Brom?
Would you recommend this away day to other fans?
Yes, I’d highly recommend to away fans.
