Why did you choose to go to this game and why were you looking forward to it?
I chose to go to this game because it was the last away game of the season and was looking forward to it because it’s one of the best atmosphere wise when they were in the championship.
How did you travel to the game and how easy was it?
We decided to drive up and it was fairly simple, some away fan road signs took us around a circle in Nottingham though.
If you drove, was it easy to find car parking and make your way to the stadium?
Finding parking was fine, across the other side of the river was a car park which we paid £5 for.
Which pubs did you go to before the game and what was the atmosphere like?
It was called the Meadow Lane Sports Ground, and it’s within the Notts County stadium which was for away fans only. Atmosphere was bouncing.
What did you think of the away end and your view of the game?
View was great, enjoy being behind the goal family stand to your right, then you have a normal stand to your left.
What was the atmosphere like during the match?
Felt as though they were quiet at times, loud when they actually sang but even though they battered us we kept it up until the end.
How friendly were the home fans out of 10?
No problems, only the expected chanting inside stadium so 10/10.
How easy did you find it to get away from the stadium after the game?
Right behind a Swans taxi which displayed welsh flags all around so attracted a lot of attention. Both sets of fans had a good laugh about it and made the exit enjoyable.
How much did you spend in total on this away day? Was it good value for money?
Apart from tickets and petrol, parking (£5), food for 2 (£10), and drinks inside stadium which didn’t pay for so not too bad.
Would you recommend this away day to other fans?
I think I have been to better away days in the past but the atmosphere was good. Stadium is brilliant and just for that I would say it’s a good one to go to.

Why did you choose to go to this game and why were you looking forward to it?
Opening game of the season and, having been there once before, a great ground to visit.
How did you travel to the game and how easy was it?
WBA supporters coach. Easy run from the Hawthorns which took just over an hour.
What did you think of the away end and your view of the game?
The view from the Bridgford (away) End is superb. No supporting pillars to get in the way.
What was the atmosphere like during the match?
The noise generated by both sets of supporters just before the teams took to the pitch was incredible, possibly due to it being the first game of the season. The Bridgford is two-tiered with away fans on the lower section so any noise generated is deafening.
How friendly were the home fans out of 10?
Very friendly. No hassles. 10/10.
How easy did you find it to get away from the stadium after the game?
Took a while but police did stop traffic for the coaches.
How much did you spend in total on this away day? Was it good value for money?
Bought a programme and a pin badge so just over a fiver, plus the cost of the ticket and the supporters coach.
Would you recommend this away day to other fans?
Definitely. The City Ground, like many others, has changed greatly over the last few years but it’s still one of the nicest grounds to visit. Every club should be on the banks of a river!
Is there anything else you want to tell other away fans about your day?
Fantastic crowd, fantastic atmosphere and Albion won 2-1.

Why did you choose to go to this game and why were you looking forward to it?
Forest is an away day that gets all the lads out. Great city for a night out and decent boozers. I was looking forward to it as it was great seeing mates old and new. Norwich have been getting some great results and Forest were strong at home. It was going to be a good test for the team for me to see if we’ve got the bottle when needed.
How did you travel to the game and how easy was it?
We travelled by train which was easy once we had negotiated the issues of no trains from Yarmouth to Norwich as they were cancelled. Getting home was poor. Only given two carriages for a full away allocation of 2,000 so it was a bit of a squeeze. Granted not everyone went on the train but they must of had an idea it would be busier especially with Forest fans travelling with Norwich back to Grantham and Peterborough.
If you got the train, how easy did you find it to make your way to the stadium from the station?
Went for a pub crawl so do really know. Getting back to the station from the ground was easy with a couple of pubs nearby while you wait for your train.
Which pubs did you go to before the game and what was the atmosphere like?
Went slightly off the beaten track to go to some pubs and exploring the city and get some real ale. So no football atmosphere in any apart from the local Wetherspoons near the station and canal (The Company Inn). We went to Fothergills, Ye Old Trip to Jerusalem (oldest inn in England), The Old Salutation Inn (a little too rock and roll for me), The Ned Ludd (bar staff put on some tunes just for us). After the game the Vat and Fiddle near the station with decent football fans.
What did you think of the food and drink available inside the ground?
Just bottles of beer available. Didn’t try food. Saw lads with chips and a slab of plastic cheese on top.
What did you think of the away end and your view of the game?
View was great. Stewards were safe but understanding when our team scored.
What was the atmosphere like during the match?
Surprised with the Forest fans to be honest. 1-0 up and they didn’t really get behind their team. We out sang them for the whole of the second half and it got better when we got an equaliser and then limbs when the winner went in.
How friendly were the home fans out of 10?
6/10
How easy did you find it to get away from the stadium after the game?
Easy to get out if you know where your going but there was no signage for away fans to get back to the station.
How much did you spend in total on this away day? Was it good value for money?
£200. With the three points, great company it was worth every penny. Still feel every away ticket should be £20. Even though I know my own club does charge more for some games.
Would you recommend this away day to other fans?
Yes. Good old fashioned ground steeped in history.
Is there anything else you want to tell other away fans about your day?
Great away day for those who want to go to an original English football ground.
