Review by West Brom fan Curt Howett

Why did you choose to go to this game and why were you looking forward to it?

On the back of some good form, tickets were selling fast. At only 15 pounds return on the train and 3,000 Albion fans travelling it seemed rude not to go!

How did you travel to the game and how easy was it?

I travelled up on the train from Sheffield, changing at Warrington Central.

If you got the train, how easy did you find it to make your way to the stadium from the station?

The ground is a fair walk from the station but I followed the majority of the fans who took me in the right direction.

Which pubs did you go to before the game and what was the atmosphere like?

I went to the Beverley which was ok and good for a talk. However, the pub opposite the Beverly had a great atmosphere in it despite the long queue for the bar.

Where did you eat on your away day and was it good value?

I ate at a Wetherspoons by the station which was full of away fans so it was great talking to some of them!

What did you think of the food and drink available inside the ground?

I had a sausage roll and a pint at half time as they had sold out of pies! It is just normal football prices nothing special.

What did you think of the away end and your view of the game?

No problems with the view at all as we had the whole stand behind the goal.

What was the atmosphere like during the match?

Only the away fans were making noise as Wigan didn’t have many fans there.

How friendly were the home fans out of 10?

10/10

How easy did you find it to get away from the stadium after the game?

We just looked for the river which we walked down back towards the station, following other away fans.

How much did you spend in total on this away day? Was it good value for money?

Including the ticket and train I spent around 70 pounds which I think was worth it.

Would you recommend this away day to other fans?

Yeah, if your team is bringing numbers it’s a fun day.
